Here are two main misapprehensions that people have about the web designing field:
- Design: It is a misconception in the minds of people that the design of the website that is its attractiveness is what the most important thing in website is. The images, the graphics, the flash, the animation, the sound, etc. all this may be attractive but it is not the only thing that makes a website a hit. The main problem with these aspects is that they increase the load time of the website. There are many website on the web that do not have a lot of these decorative elements but are still the most popular ones. There are elements like the content, the navigation, the functionality, its cross browser compatibility, etc. that are also very much responsible for making a webpage successful. So avoid overusing visuals and graphics so that your page looks attractive as well as loads faster.
- Content: Even though the content is what tells the visitors about the website and the business, but if your website contains a lot of content everywhere then it may bore your users. If your website does not contain any visuals then your visitors won’t be attracted towards it.
So the point is to make use of graphics and content in such a way that they complement each other perfectly.
